マツダB360からの後継車としてフルモデルチェンジして登場。最初のポーターは、ボンネットトラック＆バンでした。エンジンはB360後期型から搭載されていた初代キャロル系の4ストローク4気筒OHVを引き続き搭載。

Full model change as a successor from Mazda B 360 appeared. The first porter was bonnet truck & van. The engine continues to be equipped with the original 4-stroke 4-cylinder OHV of the Carol series that had been installed from the late B 360 type.
