初代モデルの簡素で華奢な印象を払拭した。この代にもピックアップトラック型のサニートラック B120型が設定されたが、このモデルは乗用車系のB110型生産終了後もマイナーチェンジを繰り返し、日本国内向けは1994年3月までの23年間、海外向けにいたっては2008年9月まで37年間の長きにわたり生産が続けられ、NP200の発売後に至っても在庫分が併売されていた。

B120型系列は「サニトラ」の愛称で広く親しまれている。
