2代目シルビアの正式名称は、「ニューシルビア」で、エンブレムにも「NEW」の文字が見られる。このエンブレムは最後まで「NEW Silvia」と書かれており、前期型のエンブレムはCSP311型シルビアと同じ字体だった。

コンセプトは初代とはうって変わり、北米市場向けの「セクレタリーカー」として開発された。

The official name of the second generation Silvia is "New Silvia", and the emblem also has the character "NEW". This emblem is written "NEW Silvia" till the end, the former type emblem was the same type as the CSP 311 type Silvia.

The concept has changed rather than the original, and it was developed as a "secretary car" for the North American market.
