パブリカのスポーティーな上級派生車として登場した初代はファストバックボディの2ドアと4ドアであり、1978年（昭和53年）まではスポーティーグレードを廃止した2代目パブリカも併売されていた。2代目以降は3ドアと5ドアのハッチバックボディを持つ。2代目と3代目には商用車登録のバンも存在したが、ピックアップトラックは作られず、パブリカピックアップが1988年（昭和63年）まで継続生産されていた。
