スイフトスポーツとしては2代目。エンジンがジュニアWRCと同排気量の1600cc（M16A型、125馬力、ハイオク仕様）になり、トランスミッションも初代の5速MTのみから4速ATも選べるようになった。初代は3ドアのみの設定だったが、2代目の日本仕様は標準車と同じく5ドアのみの設定となった。

It is the second generation as a swift sports. The engine became 1600 cc (M16A type, 125 horse power, high oct specification) with the same displacement as Junior WRC, and the transmission became to be able to choose 4 speed AT only from the first 5 speed MT. The first generation was set up with only 3 doors, but the second Japanese specification was set to only 5 doors, just like standard cars.
