1982年に発売された初代マーチ（K10型）のシャーシを利用して開発され、日本国内でのみ販売された。限定販売という触れ込みで発売されたものの非常な人気を博した。また、1980年代当時主流であった「四角い」カーデザインを「丸く」する端緒ともなった。

It was developed using the first march (K10 type) chassis released in 1982, sold only in Japan. Although it was released with the touch of limited sale, it got very popular. It also became a beginning to "round" the "square" car design which was mainstream in the 1980s.
