1973年（昭和48年）4月に2代目パブリカのスポーティーな上級シリーズとして、パブリカ・スターレットの名でデビュー（1,000cc：KP45 / 1,200cc：KP47）。初代セリカで好評であった「フルチョイスシステム」にならい、やや簡略化した「フリーチョイスシステム」を採用していた。
In 1973 (Showa 48) Debuted in the name of Pablica · Starlet as a sporty advanced series of 2nd generation Pablica (1,000 cc: KP 45 / 1,200 cc: KP 47) in April. Following the "full choice system" popular in the first Celica, it adopted somewhat simplified "free choice system".
